Projection welding
In case of projection welding the projection shape in one of the materials determines the concentration of current and power. The shape of the projections can be sharp, round or linear; they need to be made previously in a separate operation.
Applications
Projection welding is especially applied in case of visible surfaces, and sometimes for joining pre-painted materials.
