Spot welding
In case of resistance welding the electrical resistance of the materials to be joined is used by heating these under simultaneous application of power until a welding point is generated.
In case of spotwelding the current and power are concentrated due to the form of the welding electrode.
Applications
Within the field of thin sheet metal working there are many applications: strengthening ribs in shelves and cabinets; joining of cabinet parts in the steel furniture industry. The joining of corners in refrigerator doors to increase the stiffness.
